Stories of Faith, Struggle, and Hope

Amy R. Anguish grew up a preacher's kid, and in spite of having lived in seven different states that are all south of the Mason Dixon line, she is not a football fan. Currently, she resides in Tennessee with her husband, daughter, and son, and usually a bossy cat or two. Amy has an English degree from Freed-Hardeman University that she intends to use to glorify God, and she wants her stories to show that while Christians face real struggles, it can still work out for good.

Pre-order Fairest Inn All now.

Releasing March 24, 2026.

KP - I first met author Amy R. Anguish at ScrivCon 2024 and had the pleasure of seeing her again at ScrivCon 2025. From the moment we met, her warmth, friendliness, and genuine kindness made a lasting impression on me. Amy writes heartfelt stories filled with faith, charm, and hope.

I’ve enjoyed reading Rendersella (Real-life Fairy Tales #1), her delightful Cinderella retelling, and I’m currently part of her launch team for her upcoming release, Fairest Inn All (Real-life Fairy Tales #2)—a Snow White–inspired small-town romance with plenty of heart. The book releases on March 24, 2026. Amy is also the author of novels such as Faith and Hope and Saving Grace, and the co-author of several novellas including A Match Made at Christmas, Pets Amore, and Love Delivered, among others available on Amazon. I’m looking forward to reading more of her stories in the future!

Welcome, Amy Anguish.

About Amy’s Book

KP - What inspired you to write this book, and how did the idea first take shape?

AA - Believe it or not, I never meant to write this book. I wrote Rendersella and thought it was going to be one and done for me doing fairytale retellings. Instead, my characters took over and I realized that Ella's best friend was actually Snow White. So, here we are. I had to write another one.

KP - Which part of the book was the most challenging to write, and why?

AA - The hardest part for me about writing fairytale retellings has been doing it without magic. How do you make things happen without those magic apples or a fairy godmother? But it's also made me stretch and come up with interesting ways around magic too. And I think it makes my stories different from a lot of the others out there.

Writing Process & Craft

KP - Please describe your writing process. Do you outline extensively (plotter) or discover as you go (pantser)?

AA - I used to be a total pantser. I would have an opening scene in my head and just write from there. Over the last few years, I've discovered that it helps to scribble down ideas that come for future scenes I'm not to yet so I don't forget them in the midst of writing the ones that come before. I keep a notebook next to me to hold details and those ideas for when I need them.

KP - Do you follow a daily writing routine? If so, what does it look like?

AA - I can't have a daily writing routine that's the same every day. My life is too crazy right now. I work three other jobs besides being an author. I'm also a mom and a Bible class teacher. So, when I write, I try to write about an hour and a half every day--usually after my kids are in bed. I can usually crank out a book in a month if I stick to that. But I've learned to give myself grace during the crazy seasons too. And that's okay.

Fairest Inn All (Real-life Fairy Tales #2)

A queen, seven uncles, and an apple tart—real life is no fairy tale.

Kari White never planned to rescue a historic inn—or risk her carefully guarded heart.

Summoned to coastal Georgia by seven uncles she barely knows, Kari arrives with one goal: fix the failing Apple Inn and leave. Upon arrival, Kari faces challenges including an aggressive developer closing in, deadlines looming, and the inn’s future hanging in the balance.

Royal Barrett believes some things are worth fighting for, especially the soul of his hometown. As the creator of the Fairest Inn All contest, he’s determined to protect Brunswick’s history from being erased. But when Kari and the Apple Inn land squarely in his path, Royal discovers that saving the past may require risking his own future.

Forced together by storms, impossible repair projects, and undeniable chemistry, Kari and Royal must confront the fears shaping their choices. Kari gave up on happily-ever-afters long ago, and trusting Royal could unravel everything she’s built. Yet leaving might mean losing the hope she never believed she deserved.

Fairest Inn All is a sweet small-town romance filled with heart, faith, and charm—a contemporary fairy tale retelling about legacy, belonging, and discovering that love can grow in the most unexpected places.

Looking Ahead

KP - Are you already working on your next project? If so, can you share a glimpse?

AA - In some ways, yes. I've just finished up content edits for a Christmas novella that will release in September. Next will be line edits and final read-through for that. I am due to turn in my third fairytale retelling in May and have an early reader going through it now so I can polish it a bit more. It's a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Then, I'm playing with ideas for what to write next and am getting inspiration by refreshing my memory of American Sign Language. ;)

KP - What kind of stories do you hope to keep telling?

AA - I try to write stories that leave a reader feeling like my characters have a chance at staying together for life. I get so tired of hearing about people who are divorcing or giving up on love after a short time. I want more than that for me and my loved ones. And I want readers to see that it's worth it to stick it out and work through the issues that may arise.
